Tour Widow

The time has come again in my chosen life as a wife to an international axe man, that I am left at home to care for the G'ster, the Hound, and the Caat whilst the Duck travels around Europe for the next 2 weeks.

While I am jealous of his summer vacation, ahem.... sorry I mean his hard business travel time...
 {yes sir "working" is hard}
I am happy to spend some alone time with my little one. I am as busy as a beaver for the next two weeks and I am hoping that the time will just FLY by.

I am always trying to think of a good lead in topic that correlates to some lame design thing I am gonna talk about, but today I couldn't think of anything except this.

Tour Widow= Wallpaper matching Window treatments

I mainly hate them both the same....

That dog is even mad about the ugly scene happening here

Rooster weeds ugly

Goddy Bullard Balls

No words for Ugly, Ugly

If you want me to match the walls and the curtains then I am not the interior designer for you.

If you read my blog and like this look please tell me why????

Let's start a debate like the civilized design nerds we all are.

New client

I LOVE my new client, let's call her "E"!  I rully rully LOVE HER!!

The main reason is that she gets it....does that make sense?

Sometimes clients don't understand interior design {especially my style of interior design}.
Sometimes clients don't understand things like pink and coral and turquoise or rugs on top of rugs.
Sometimes clients think that Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware our your only options of decorating resources.
Well THANKS TO THE INTERIOR DESIGN GODS this lovely Mama of 1 has found me and we are gonna design the SHIT outta her extremely beautiful house..
No seriously, she gets it all!  She read blogs, she knows her fabric and she uses PINTREST!!!

Ok I will stop lovin on "E" before I embarrass myself.

Here are a couple of sneaky peeks of her house

"before shots"

OH MANNNNN, I can't wait for this house to get the AI treatment!

Oh yeah as if I couldn't love this house anymore.....it is about 2 minutes away from my Best Friends house....at the beach!

Like I said, match made in heaven!!!

I have been on an awesome clients streak....if your awesome and you wanna be my client lets keep this ball rollin shall we!

********************
Hey Guys! I'm so excited to be here today for
One Room Two ways.  I think Amber and her blog are pretty rock n roll and I especially love this series.  As a manic re-stylist, its fun to see what how other bloggers re-invent spaces. I took this as an opportunity to tackle my sofa. This is a true style story, a real-life before and after, or as I prefer to think of it...

When I bought my first big girl sofa I knew exactly what I wanted: clean lines, mid-century feel, gray upholstery. I found it in Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams' Martin Sofa. It was the bees knees until I moved into a new loft space recently and decided to completely reinvent my life decor style.

Not wanting to buy a new sofa, I made it work for awhile...

Then one day I had the brillz idea to have a slipcover made.  20 yards of yummy linen later and I have a more neutral, softer sofa.  I also switched out the end table, pillows, and rearranged my coffee table, 'natch.

Now it's like I have two sofas, which is pretty much the best thing ever.  I'm totally loving the skirted style and am enjoying my little boho-chic fantasy.  But I also like that if I ever want Mid-Century Martin back, all I have to do is pull off my slipcover.  Winner!

Next up: Figure out what to do with the ugly doors behind my sofa.

Hope you guys enjoyed my little makeover.  Amber, thanks so much for having me over!  This was totally the kick in the ass that I needed to get my pillow sewing done.

Dude you are the one who is rock and rollin'.
Thanks for playin Naomi!

Monday Monday Monday

Check out a couple of my rooms in the new House of Fifty Fall issue. There is a great article about "How to Create an Eclectic space" on page 52 so please go take a looksy. The whole magazine is filled with eye candy!

So please go and take a peek at all the pretty pictures and super tips.

in other news

There is lots going on over at AID. I have another new client starting this week which I am SOOOO excited about. The house is a stunner and I can't wait to get my hands in it and start making all types of gorgeousness happen.

On Saturday I had my first blogger meet up EVER. I met up with the lovely and talented Jamie, her Faboosh partner in crime Keila, and quite possibly the chicest fella around Mr.Nick Frickin-Olsen. We discussed all manner of pressing an relevant current affairs....Such As..

"Natasha Leone look alike but the tranny version really knows how to mad-dog"
"I am a bar tender, not a waitress"
"Tip on a Tip"
"Cobra sparkles"
"ToadsLoads"
"Teach me how to Donkey, teach me.. teach me.. how to Donkey"
"Yes, Donkey Shows are real"
"Caftan Communes" {apparently I am elligable}
"Soulja Boy"

and about 2,327 other extremely vulgar topics I won't mention for fear of scaring the majority of you off reading my blog. I drank a lot of tequila and rum filled cocktails and if it was up to me we would all live closer so that nights like Saturday could take place more often........like every night type of more often.

My camera and phone died so I only took 3 blurry and shitty photos so here they are. We are all WAY better looking than this...scouts honor. Oh and Jim Jammy James has way better boob hair than me...FACT.

I was 3 toadloads deep in these photos so an awkward bear hug was totally called for.

BTW at the fear of sounding weird..... I NEED AN INTERN!!  Someone who can do a lot of things that myself and my sidekick Amanda just don't have time to do. I need an awesome helper who wants to work in the loony bin world of AID with the potential to grow with my company. I will teach you lots and give you things like pizza and paint chips. If this sounds like something you are crazy enough to take part in, Email me here and I will send you more details.

You also don't really have to live in Los Angeles although it's preferred.
