Stylish Blogger Award.

I got nominated my friends, by not 1 amazing blogger but 2 amazing bloggers for this "stylish blogger award" bizness.

Danika...the seriously talented and annoyingly perfect blogger from Gorgeous Shiny Things as well as Emily from Recently {whom I just discovered today and is a blog rockstar}  I guess deemed me worthy of the award. I feel propelled to take my moment.....cry a little, and give you a speech.. Just kidding. I am supposed to tell you readers 7 things that you didn't know about me....Who's ready for a nap cause my life can at times be snooze worthy!

1: I was born in Hawaii.....Mook Ka Laka Heke Come on you wanna Lay me..yes my friends I was born on the island of Kauai because my Hippie parents graduated from High School and went to live on a beach instead of do the whole "welcome to the real world" way of life. Lots of my family still live there and I like to visit as much as possible!

2: I hate certain words.....words that I cannot even type, and if we were having a conversation and you used them I would get up and leave the room....
I will give you some hints-
First word rhymes with wussy..starts with a "p".........say it and I will vomit on you. This also includes words that have this word within them.... Gwynnie will most likely get kicked out of kindergarten one day when they ask her what creature lives in the ocean and has 8 tentacles...and she replies "Octobuddy"

The second word rhymes with hoist....starts with an "M"...used to describe a cake or something damp....again I will vomit if I so much as hear this word.

Thirdly, this word rhymes with pasty, starts with a "t" and is also probably used to describe a caked or other baked goods..Triple Ew!

3: The Duck is kinda a big deal...HaHa!  He is technically famous most places in the world except the US and is literally a British world travelling rockstar. The tweens love him. Throughout his 11 year career I have seen him take on swarms of screeching kids crying for an autograph and a picture with him. I have also had the fortune of watching him play to crowds of 50,000 plus people whilst pyrotechnics and laser beams go off all around...I means it's really weird right! Hence why the Duck remains the nameless "Duck"... BTW Just typing this instantly makes me feel like an asshole...oh well, I guess it's something you didn't know about me!

{that's the duck with his guitar}

4: I have a really, really good memory for pictures but I will forget your name and what I did 10 minutes ago..

5: I like to draw:

6. I love movies but I HATE movie theatres. Just seeing one makes my palms sweat. Hence why I let the Duck have a super TV surround sound bollocks in our house, just so that I stopped feeling bad for never going to the movies.....ever!

7. I have a major secret crush on "Russell" The troll from survivor: And Crispin Glover who plays "Willard" the sketchy rat collector dude from the movie Willard.

have you all fallen asleep yet? Thanks Ladies for the nomination. At least it gave me something  to post about today. I was stumped between front door colors and bedroom inspirations. I will leave those for tomorrow!

Office Space

Recently it dawned on me that I have never had a desk job. I have always had the fortune of working really amazing jobs which kept me either out in the world shopping around or in my home office. Although I sit behind my desk in my house and work away for hours at the computer, I have never had to compete for attention at any water coolers or suffer from headaches from flickering crappy office lights. Most days I roll into the office without a brush touching my hair or so much as a smidge of chapstick on. I tend to look like a mad woman who needs sleep....anyways, upon thinking about this i decided to create an office....as if I had to go to work dressed up.

**DEAR READERS: I HAVE SAID THIS BEFORE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO SAY IT...........YOU CAN HIRE ME TO DO THIS FOR YOU...YES I CAN BE HIRED!**

1 room 2 ways: Bijou & Boheme

You guys....LOOK WHO'S HERE..

Can I first off start by confessing my undying love for Christine from Bijou and Boheme. She has been one of, if not THEE, nicest and most helpful blogger gals in blogland.! She has impeccable taste...and I mean impeccable. You have to go look at her house, and she also has a sense of keeping her style fresh and true to her personality. I am chuffed to have her showing off her room two ways today. If your not already a follower....go jump on it because you have been missing out! The eye candy alone will have you swooning for more!

***********
Hi AI readers, I am so thrilled to be here showing you my little cabinet switcheroo.
To start things off, here is my vintage chinoise armoire.
I bought this little lovely from Sir Craig for $200 bones - she used to be perhaps the only shade of pink in the world I don't like.
I painted her white and positioned her in the kitchen to serve as a china hutch.

Although I loved the cabinet here, it didn't really fit the space...made having a chair at the end of the table a little tight.
And more importantly, hush hush, whisper whisper...my new kitchen is going to have some pretty fabulous display areas so.....time for Ms. Chinoise to move.
I wanted to give the cabinet a bit of a new look for the big transfer so she got a little FB Hague Blue touch up...and let me just say, she's looking quite pretty.
Here she is now.

I still have a LOT of fiddling/rearranging to do with the goodies inside, but so far so good.

Thanks so much to Amber for letting my little cabinet show her pretty new colours.
xo

No My love! Thank YOU!

DIY Cloud Art and more Dining room sneak peeks!

Here is another small sneak peak of our dining room!
A'int it purty.

Do you like my cloud art?

I made it myself...another DIY that looks waaaaay more pricey than it actually was.

I took some cool photos of white puffy clouds and had them blown up 28" x 40" on glossy poster paper. It was 30 bucks to blow up and then I framed them in Ribba's from Ikea. I photo shopped the images a bit to make them have that Lomo camera poloroid vibe and Wallah! Big original art for under 60 bucks! Woop Woop!

This famous photo was my inspiration! I love how it makes the outside feel inside....Kinda makes the room look and feel bigger.

Sunday dinner on a Wednesday

The weather over here in Val-Town has been real earthquakey.....Since I am a lady of southern California I am well-versed in weather which normally indicates the world might be rockin soon.. Hot one day then hail the next... If it's not an earthquake coming than it's definitely been weird weather to say the least.
On Sunday there was a serious storm outside with rain, wind, and a bit of hail so I guess that was as good an excuse as any to gorge our faces full of british inspired grub. The Duck got a wild hair and decided to roast a chicken, roast some root veggies and potatoes, and make yorkshire puddings.

Email me if you want the recipies to any of these and I will have the Duck give me the info.

Here is how it went down....

1pm
G looked for crap in the cupboards....I guess she was helping her Dad out.

1:15 pm
The Duck gave the chicken a little rub down...
Don't let the sweater fool you... he is TOTALLY secure in his manhood and wears "pink and orange stripey jumpers"
{said in still confusing after 6 years british/welsh accent}

1:23 pm
The Duck busted out some root veggies. Parsnips and carrots that turned out sinfully good....

1:35 pm
Then he made some yummy Yorkshire puddings.....for us Americana folks...this is basically a puffed up flour and egg savory cakey thing that is AMAZEBALLS. It's like a dinner roll for the morbidly obese!

1:45 pm
Here were the roasted veggies...I could have ate an entire plate of just these..THEY WERE GOOD!

 2:04 pm
And here is the full shebang pic of what eventually ended up on my big layer of butt blubber.  This meal has forced me to think about possibly working out this week...cheyaaahh right!

Email me if you want to gain 12 pounds and make this grub to feed your face!
I'll give you the recipes, but at your own risk!
