It is up for your viewing pleasure so go take a prowl!

Chalk...Bored

Even though I am bored of chalkboard walls, I still want one. Question is where do I put one? Am I a nut bag to paint my entire bathroom in chalk and when people are in there they can write there thoughts?

Or am I even nuttier to paint my whole laundry door black?

I think both of these options could be cool its just....it's BLACK paint going up on my newly WHITE painted house...hmmm

Blogger Block

I woke up this morning with grand thoughts of a post to blow minds all over the blogosphere. Jumped up out of bed, kissed the duck and G , grabbed my computer and thought to myself..." OK world lets do this"
Sat down to type it all out and um.... nothin. "SERVER REJECTED"

Not only is my computer/ blogger sucking royally but I have blogger block. I can't think of much else but my numerous unfinished projects lurking throughout the house, or G who currently is having "episodes", or that the Duck is going back to the studio today which means sad lonely nights to watch real housewives of OC ALONE...(ok maybe that last one isn't so bad) Basically in a nut shell I am distracted.

Whats the best cure for distraction besides a triple Latte??..... Pretty pictures. They tell their own story without me having to do to much of the talkin.
So here is my half ass approach at blogging today.
David Hicks: that is all

HELP!

I have not been able to post ALL day... It keeps saying server rejected when I try and upload images from my desktop. Does anyone out there have an answer for me....I feel naked without a new blog post for the day!!!!

Egg Head

I have been the proud owner of one of these babies for a couple years now and I absolutely love it. It has been with us through three apartments and now resides on the front porch of our new house. In every apartment we hung it in the corner of our living room, leaving the landlords PISSED and with a giant hole in the ceiling.  The duck has a love hate relationship with the chair cause he knows he's the one who has to crawl in the attic to find the stud to drill it into.... Just to bug him I am contemplating bringing it back inside.
Anyways, it is currently the natural rattan finish and I am thinking maybe paint it white....Here is the chair as is{in our apartment 4 years ago}, and some inspirations with it both painted and leaving it
Au Naturale.

Thoughts?

and here is a little pic of yours truly...just because.

the OK CORAL!

My fave color combo at the moment is navy and coral. I have decided this is our offices official color scheme. Pretty huh? It's just soothing. I actually own a version of that gold lotus lamp, except mine is WAAAY better. Currently we have the cork board up sans fabric. That little project will be posted soon. Can't wait to see how this room turns out, if I do say so myself. As soon as I have time to breathe I will get this party started!

for now....Pretties!

Love is Double Espresso Latte's from our fancy shmancy latte machine :

Love is this child grabbing my face and headbutting me cause apparently she can't get close enough:

Love is this white green and pink color combo!

Love is laughter

Love is the Duck letting me sleep in this morning till 7...
Love is also leaving the door open just enough so that I could hear what was going on out in the Living Room if I wanted to.

Super Market Flowers.

I always seem to have a thousand side projects. One of my faves is definitely flower arranging. I have found you don't always need to wake up at the butt crack of dawn and drive to the flower market in order to score the best flowers. There is most likely a supermarket within a 10 mile radius from your home and if you know how to look you can turn the crappiest market flowers into a worthy arrangement. Here is a couple of helpful tips I use when I need a quick floral stunner!

1. No Primary colored flowers.
Now this tip is subjective. yellow flowers can be beautiful and so can red..however you MUST mix them with other things or they tend to look cheesy.  Case in point, these red roses only look fab because there are other colors mixed in.

2. Head to the vegetable aisle:
Most markets don't offer much more than some common baby's breath for filler, so i always check out the veggie aisle. Kale, baby cabbages and artichokes are some great options to use as fillers.

3. Think outside the Vase
Try something different as your container. Head down the Tupperware aisle...or look for baskets. You can even try colored plastic cups wrapped in ribbon. If you do use glass...fill it with beans, lemon wedges, or purple lettuce leaves.
Here is a Mason jar wrapped in twine

4. Less is more.
Sometimes the prettiest arrangements are the ones with the less to look at. Try wrapping some rosemary and parsley with twine.

Here is what I did for G's first B-day...I found the pink Tupperware containers in the Dollar bins at Target and the rest was from Trader Joes. Each arrangement cost me about 13 bucks!

I would love to see some of your market bunches! Send em on over. xo
