Lots of Love! It must be Valentines

So I woke up to 30 some odd emails from you beautiful bloggers saying all types of nice things about my bliggity blog! I think the last time I had THAT many emails was when someone mistook my email for the turbo tax "help file" email...long story, don't ask.

Whats even more mind blowing is that the Duck gave me a shout out on his twitter which has no less than 9,952 followers and I only received 12 views...Irony!

Anyways, I am floored at the lovely things you all have to say.
Big UPS to Bryn over at Bryn Alexandra for posting my "bedroom done three ways".

Also A big Ole hug goes out to Dankia Over at Gorgeous Shiny Things. Not only are both these gals SUPER talented but, extremely nice as well.
Thanks Girls!

p.s if someone else posted my bedroom please be sure to drop me a line so I can computer kiss you!

Ok back to today's post....It's GO time over here at Casa Lewis. Office Organization! A little peak as to whats in store. It involves lots of these

One room 3 looks

My Master bedroom is a tough one. I can't really make up my mind what kind of vibe I am going for.
Do I want a funky eclectic space?
Do I want a calm serene place?
Do I want a spicy sex den.....um, eww gross?
I really don't know on this one. I had a little impromptu photo shoot yesterday evening to try and help me decide. It's always the funnest part of my job when changing the most simple of things can change the ENTIRE look of the room. If it wasn't for the wall color being the same in every background, it could have been three different rooms....... hot damn!

Lunatic Chic

Doesn't my title kinda say it all. I am pretty sure this man is not a lunatic, in fact he's quite cool, but this house is MENTAL slash GROWING ON ME. I am kinda more into just how haphazard everything is placed. It has that whole lived in looking thing going for it!

Kabuki

Here we go, yet another project added to my "TO DO LIST" which at this point is longer than Mr. Sheen's "P-STARS I HAVE DONE LIST"(too much?)

Anywhoo, I have always been a fan of Florence Broadhurst  and her fantastic wallpapers and fabrics, but for some reason I have kinda forgot about her recently. I remember, way back when, before we owned our pad, I dreamt I would cover a hallway in "Japanese floral" or "Kabuki". Since we have recently depleted any excess of funds to justify buying 185 dollar a roll wallpaper, It dawned on me last night that I could probably hack this myself ! And what if not in a hallway but in G's room. How amazing would it be if I painted her accent wall a flamingo pink and then hand drew the kabuki fans on with white or silver paint pen?

kinda like this.......but not white with pink....pink with white (see crappy photoshop below)

Also I am sure this is gonna be very popular in the Blog World but the PINK ISSUE of House Beautiful...... "I Die"
There are no less than 6 pages of pink painted rooms with sources for which colors were used.. if the Duck wouldn't divorce me for it, I would paint every room in our house a various shade of pepto pink.
Here are some of my faves....that were not included in the schemes

Behr "Flamingo Dream"

or any of these colors currently littered across my desk

Float like a butterfly sting like a sting ray?

I don't think that's the saying but I will go with it. So I was in Aaron brothers the other day scooping up frames because of their fantastic buy one get one for a penny sale, when I happened upon the decorative paper section. They had some awesome things including these butterflies, the human skeletal system, and some old maps of Paris and Italy. I bought them all! They were 5 bucks a sheet. Ironically I didn't buy the frames for these papers at Aaron brother because they didn't have any white ones in 22x28, so I  headed out to Ikea and grabbed old faithful Ribba frames . Total cost $25 for the art and the frame!!

Here was my inspiration:

Look at what 200 bucks will get ya!

Its DONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I am actually crying as I write this post because this morning the Duck cooked G eggs.....whole, real, eggs. No microwave or packaging involved. No braving through dust and debris or mariachi music. No packaged eggs that when you cook them smell like burnt plastic.  No sir, just plain simple real eggs cooked in a pan on a stove top! We have not had a meal cooked on a stove in 7 fricking weeks. Eggs have never made me cry before until this morning. Let me tell you...it was an odd experience. Anywhoo....here is our kitchen... just in case you don't remember here are some before and afters!

Everything still looks really new. This rug is going on to my floor...

I also have no accessories and cheap bar stool that will be replaced one day with these.

for now we are broke and this is what we are living with until we win the lottery. I am NOT complaining!

Is this a trend?

Do you think in 15 years my favorite show is gonna be called " The Real Housewives of Saturn's 5th moon Prometheus".
Do you think flying cars will be a thing of the past and teleporting will be our new means of transport?
More importantly, do you think us interior folks will still be obsessed with Suzanis?  I mean COME ONE! How can these beauties ever go out of style. I love them so much that I am pretty sure if I was flipping through a magazine and read an interview with that idiot Justin Beaver talking about how "seriously awesome" Suzanis are I would STILL be completely into them!
Look at these images from the talented Katie Leeds. She knows the value of a little Suze!

Also check this out....no idea where the photo is from but it's purtty

Wowza!

I wish I could have white couches.. I seem to dream about my living room being filled with huge white sofas. Please help me change my clean white ways. The problem I face is that there are literally no better alternatives to white. I have a dark charcoal colored sofa and I can't tell you how many times I have cursed and then hugged this sofa. I love how it doesn't show G's snot or various other toddler dirts, and I also love how it hides the Duck's grime as well, however I hate it cause it's the big dark elephant in the room. Charcoal gray is not jiving with me and I want white and it ain't happening. So I am left to dream and swoon and collect images filled with white shit I can't have.. boooo!

Happy Birthday C Curtis

Happy B-day Curtis, This ones for you!

Watercolor

After my weekend from hell, and still being left without a completed Kitchen to show off, I am forced to pay attention to the eyesores left throughout my house. My office, for example has become the house's crap catch all and looks more like an episode of "Hoarders" than a work space.

I am not the most "zen" of people and lately I am constantly feeling like a spun out stress ball. My solution is to make my work space and home serene and calming. A place where I can feel productive and positive. Now, since I can't paint my office in Xanax, and such pharmaceuticals don't typically come in the form of home decor, I must look to more practical mellow inducing sources.

I love the sound of water and I love the colors of nature so pale blues, corals, and greens are whats inspiring me. I want to DIY some watercolor fabric for curtains or paint my office a pretty washed out gray. This artist Serena Mitnik Miller is amazing! She is definitely chilling me out!
