love it or hate it

I am completely on the fence...

I should hate it but I somehow keep liking it more and more.

I could never live in this space...I could never design this space.....

but just like watching Lohan flash her beav getting outta her red Lambo
or
watching Britney straight flip out and shave her head/marry K.Fed and walk into trucker stops barefoot

you just can't help but love them even more.

what the hell do you lovers think about it??

  1. i don't think i can hear any lovers out there. except for maybe the person who designed it.

  3. L.O.V.E. it. But wouldn't want to live in it...

  4. i've designed homes like this. it looks like every rich old lady in houston's style. but ick. i don't like it 1 bit.

sometimes when designing for a client you have to do their taste & what they want, not every room i design is shown to the public.

  5. not my style - I'm already tired of it! :)

  6. I must admit I hate it. A lot.

  7. It reminds me of a film set - everything in those rooms was made to be photographed I feel. So in that sense, it works but in another sense, I feel that Mad Men had a love child with Bewitched and this was the resulting offspring.....

  8. i actually like the last picture of the bedroom...something about that green shag carpet is inviting in a weird way. the rest? ick. also, the giant framed photo in the first picture really creeps me out for some reason.

i'm dying to know...whose house is this?!

  9. In the second to last picture, I almost like it...and then I see that the bedskirt matches, and my heart sinks. xoxo

  10. I'm with you. I love and hate it at the same time. I love the wallpaper and the drapes, but there are other elements I look at and think, WTF?! On the fence...

  11. I love it...yes I would be the weirdo who actually loves it. If i lived there I would tone it down a bit but I love the concept, its uniqueness, corkiness, and brightness. I am obsessed with that headboard and green walls minus the green rug, and in living room if the drapes were solid or viceversa the walls solid, it would be perfect. Love the oversized photo...very dramatic. Xo

  12. Despise might be a more appropriate term ;)

  13. I always love color... but this room may haven taken it a bit too far. Hehe the green carpet really took the room to another level

  14. I'm going to stick my chicken neck out and say I kinda loves it. If I had the luxury of a second home, or nix maybe third, I think I could hack it on weekends... maybe?
In the first image it's the photo that gets me. Something unexpected about it that I LOVE. I would, however, fire the drapes in the first room.

  15. LOVE that crazy ass bedroom, but the rest? Not so much. There's no place in the entire space for your eye to rest.

  16. I like it too. there is just enough quirkiness to it.

  18. Whoa...there's a lot going on in that room!

  19. Please tell me you photoshoped the creepy picture above the bed. That CAN NOT be real...

  20. Noooooo. No. Just no.

I'm getting a nervous twitch when I look at that shot of the patterned curtains on patterned wallpaper.

But you're right - it DOES kind of grow on you.

  21. I actually love the mix of colors, but the mix of patterns is barf-tastic. The wallpaper would be awesome in a much simpler room. Yikes.

  22. isn't it weird that somehow that wallpaper and those drapes work?! in a strange and very odd way... i mean I would not want it in my home, but i get it. my mother in law's house is this times a bizillion (and lots of her wallpaper matches her drapes ;)

i do like the drapes in the last room though, but they could be a bit more funky i think! AND my sister in law has that headboard fabric as wallpaper in her powder bath. heeeeeee hehe welcome to texas.

  23. I like everything about it except for the weirdo photograph or whatever that is on the wall and the shag green carpet. Carpet yucks me out anyway, but shag reeeaaally yucks me out. I just imagine all the hair and junk that's got to be stuck in it all the time...and it's green shag carpet.

  24. it's the cheeriness of the colors that saves it from being too much. the pinks and greens look very springy and youthful. the bedroom, i don't really like. that green wall is too much. and i love that scalloped mirror over the secretary. i would put that up in my apartment.

  25. I think it has some magic to it but would like a little more edgy/mod art to keep it less granny. ;)

  26. Love. With a little bit of hate, but mostly love.

  27. Totally kitch- wouldn't design it myself, couldn't live in it, but can't stop looking at it! Thanks for sharing the crazy!

  28. minus the modern art...it is EXACTLY what my grandmother's house looked like.

i don't hate it. but i could NEEVVER live in it.

unless i toned it down a notch.

  29. Its totally wierd in an Alice in Wonderland kind of way. Hmm... I dont hate it totally...but I wouldnt do it either...and it would totally drive me nuts if I lived there. I think its just amuzing.

  30. Who is the designer? I love the idea of it, def love some of the fabrics, patterns, etc, but there are elements that make me cringe too.

  31. It's pretty craptastic overall but me loves anything Paule Marrot so that headboard ( minus the crazy baroque frame) passes.

  32. First off, you know I love the crazy overdone gilded lily stuff, but that first room gives me a bit of an eye ache. Lots of good shit going on in it, but the rug drapes and wallpaper all together... somebody needs to get kicked off Survivor here. That gives me an idea for a series + Photoshop...

I actually like the last room. Its crazy, but feels a bit more grounded.

  33. I don't think I would ever end up with this space designed for me, but I'd be delighted to spend a weekend in it.

  34. The room looks too confusing with lots of colors and designs. I dont think I would prefere a room like this.

  35. This reminds of the super cheery-but-eerie suburb in Edward Scissorhands. That bedroom is easter floss-grass green - like if Tim Burton made easter baskets.

And I kind of love it. Would probably have very high blood pressure if I lived in it, but still. It's weirdly awesome.
