Chalk...Bored

Even though I am bored of chalkboard walls, I still want one. Question is where do I put one? Am I a nut bag to paint my entire bathroom in chalk and when people are in there they can write there thoughts?

Or am I even nuttier to paint my whole laundry door black?

I think both of these options could be cool its just....it's BLACK paint going up on my newly WHITE painted house...hmmm

  1. I love chalkboard walls, and actually think the black is such a nice grounding choice, but a word of warning: the chalk makes a big mess that collects on the molding and the floor, and the wall itself quickly looks kind of dirty from the chalk. When we had one, we felt like we should repaint it every 4 months or so. (but we just lived with it.)

    Good luck!

  7. I really like the idea of having a chalkboard in the home. I think it is great for a number of reasons. If I had the space I would do it.

  9. I just did the lower half of 2 of my bathroom walls black chalkboard paint - its interesting to work with. I'd had it sitting around for several years and could never decide _where_ to use it. I doubt I will ever write on it though, so I would recommend regular matte or eggshell paint, but I am glad I tried it.

Unfortunately, it does make the peach tile (which I can't change as I am a renter) more prominent... So I may revert back to white on at least one of the walls. I love the matte black to use somewhere in a white apartment, it has a nice rather bright effect even though it is dark. I say go for it. I am probably re-painting the stripe in my Living Room with the left overs and think I will really like the color there.

ps- if anyone has a really good tip for re-painting vintage ceramic tile that will hold up to walking on and showering in - I'd love to hear it!
